  • 3 ripe bananas the riper, the better
  • 1/2 cup almond butter or peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder unsweetened, not Dutch-process

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line an 8x8-inch square pan with parchment paper.
  • Mash the bananas in a large bowl until smooth, or blend them for a creamier texture.
  • Add the almond butter and cocoa powder and stir until fully combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 17–20 minutes, until the top looks just set.
  • Cool completely in the pan — the brownies will firm up as they chill.

Notes

Storage Tip: These brownies become fudgier overnight. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or freeze individual pieces for up to 6 months.
